When Should You Use The UVC and Ozone Functions?Updated a year ago
Ozone is an oxygen bearing gas that bonds to and breaks down viruses, bacteria and other harmful pathogens.
UVC is ultraviolet light that kills 99.9% of pathogens. Think of the ultraviolet light up on the wall at the fish and chip shop, which is used to kill harmful germs.
The UVC and Ozone functions are not substitutes for your spa sanitiser, such as chlorine or bromine, but are helpful additions. They help your sanitiser do about 20% of its work.
Both functions are recommended to be run for 15 minutes per day. You can run them together or individually. If you forget and leave the UVC on it will run indefinitely. It is ok to be in the spa when the UVC is running. If you forget and leave the Ozone on, it will time out after 2 hours.
YOU SHOULD NOT ENTER THE SPA WHEN THE OZONE IS RUNNING.
As we've mentioned above, both the UVC and Ozone are aids to your sanitiser, not substitutes. There is no harm in forgetting or not running your ozone and/or UVC as long as your sanitiser levels are within the OK Range as indicated by your weekly water testing.
